Summer Holidays

I was away in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia recently. During one of the nights, while waiting to cross a busy intersection, I suddenly got a text message on my handphone. Without thinking too much, I took my phone out from my pocket and tried to read the message and before I knew it a motorcycle came riding across and tried to snatch my handphone from my hand. Fortunately they were not successful but the sheer audacity of it was rather amusing to me.

But on a serious note, such incidents only reminded me the real danger while traveling. Despite the familiarity of the place to me and in this case it is Kuala Lumpur, one should never be too complacent or nonchalant especially when it comes to safety.

Would I rate Kuala Lumpur as a dangerous place? Of course not. It is definitely one of the safest places in the region. You can be robbed almost anywhere even in Singapore but the reality is that no matter where you are, common sense in regards to safety should always prevail while we are traveling and that is the honest truth.

On a brighter note, for the month of July, we will be getting back to basics. Our motto for this month will be “less is best” as we celebrate the spirit of summer here at Itchytraveller.com
We hope that to get you “hot and bothered” in our July issue, after all summer is calling and we should not resist that call of a summer fling and to show a little skin…just don’t forget the sunblock and us as your summer guide.

Speaking of summer, we have finally got our winner for the 6 days 5 nights stay package at Karma Jimbaran and not only that for the month of July we will be giving away an all inclusive package to Bangkok where you will travel on board Singapore Airlines and will be staying at the prestigious Banyan Tree Bangkok for 3 nights.

So what are we waiting for, let’s begin our summer fun.
