I really enjoyed your ‘Dancing up a Storm’ article. I am interested to learn belly dancing and I was wondering where I can go get some lessons right here in Singapore.
Ella Ariffin (Singapore)

Hi Ella, it is always a pleasure to know that you enjoy reading our articles.
Regarding belly dancing classes, there are a few places where you can get lessons from, the biggest one being Belly Dance Discovery which offers trial classes for $5.00 before you decide to commit for the full course. You can also check out the People’s Association website as some community centers also offer belly dancing lessons and at a much cheaper rate too.

Hi, I will be traveling to Singapore this 7th of August and will be in town for about a week. I heard that there will be a National Day celebration on the 9th of August. Is there any way that I can get tickets to this celebration and if not, where is the best place for me to soak up the festivities?
Niklas Kaufmann (Germany)

Unfortunately Niklas, you wont be able to get anymore tickets to the parade this late but if you don’t mind mixing it with a large crowd, why don’t you head down to the mouth of the Singapore River (where you will also find the Merlion) and watch the festivities from there. You will be able to see the aerospace and fireworks on display and many other delightful surprises. Just be there really really early to get a nice spot for you to sit on.
