Koh Samui

We will start our journey in Koh Samui. The reason why we choose Koh Samui as the first stop of our journey is because Koh Samui is the furthest north of the islands that can be found in the South of Thailand that has an international airport. So it is always advisable to start your journey here and move your way southwards.

Again, there are various way on how to get to Koh Samui but we would highly recommend you to go there by air as it will save you a whole load of time and energy, something that you need exorbitantly for the rest of the journey. Get yourself a one-way air ticket from Singapore to Koh Samui, it will cost you in the region of S$300 and above not inclusive of taxes and both Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways ply this route.

When you reach Koh Samui, the next step is to decide on which beach you plan to be at. The

This is something you will notice on your entire island hopping experience. No two beaches are entirely the same. If it is not the quality of sand, then it is the temperature of the water or the noise of the people around you.

Koh Samui offers a whole range of accommodations to suit any kind of budget, where the more popular ones can be found in Chaweng Beach. But don’t fret about it, no matter which beach you are staying at, the other beaches in Koh Samui are easily accessible by hired vehicles.

So after sometime on the beach you might wonder what else is there to do or see in Koh Samui. Well there’s plenty to be honest and again this is something you will find similar to some of the larger islands in your island hopping experience. All you need to do is to pace yourself and don’t worry so much about missing out an experience. Remember you are there to catch some R&R.

A tip we would like to share with you is that when you sign up for an activity or excursions in Koh Samui or any of the islands, it is best to do so outside your hotel. They might insists that their operators are safe, credible and honest which is half true but the major difference from booking any trips or excursions from your hotel is that you wont be able to negotiate the price, something that you could easily do from a tour/travel operator that is found outside your hotel. You could easily get 50% off the price that is found in the brochures.
