Your Letters in June
While browsing through your website, I found a lack of articles on South America. Could you feature more countries from this region and perhaps do a feature on how best to travel through South America. Also what I should look out for in terms of safety and budget as an independent lady traveler.
Maria Garcia (Spain)
Dear Marcia, my humblest apologies in our shortcoming. As much as I would love to feature more articles from South America, we are unable to get enough neither materials nor reference from that region but let me reassure you that all of us here at Itchytraveller.com are working extremely hard to get more writers in from South America. I am sure you will find much improvement to your excellent suggestion in the coming months and I will definitely look into getting one of our esteemed writers to feature an article for lady travelers in South America.
I’m an avid foodie and have found your reviews interesting and helpful. It would be great if you could do more articles about the dessert scene here in Singapore.
Farhana Amin. (Singapore)
Hi Farhana, glad you found the reviews helpful. We are always on the lookout for new as well as older places that serve great and interesting dishes. In fact, our resident dessert connoisseur is on a mission to find the best ice cream café in town. So do lookout for that article sometime next month.
I find it hard to travel on the cheap even when I backpack and in the end I usually end up spending about the same amount I would if I were to travel normally. Are there any innovative ways to save money without having to starve myself of a good meal and a good night’s sleep?
Jemma P. (Penang, Malaysia)
I wish I am able to tell you something new but I can’t as there is none. Not at least to my knowledge. But to actually save on a trip I would recommend you going with a group of people at least from a financial point of view, the basic cost incurred can be divided equally. Another tip that I would like to share with you is to travel during non-peak season. The cost of places during that period can be as low as 50%-80% compared to their peak season.
You also could check out with airlines of any special price or promotions that they might be having to the destinations of your choice. Realistically it is a long shot but worth the try nevertheless.
